Iftar date at Papillon restaurant, Sheraton, Abuja.

Hello everyone! Its been a while I posted anything about my life, maybe what Ive been up to and all that. Ive just been super busy shuffling so many stuff like; work, school, family, life!! But worry no further, your girl is back with this piece (lol).

On this fateful day my uncle, Nafiu, came to town on a business trip and had no plans for iftar, so he called me and asked where I would like to eat at and I said sheraton. We went for the date and it was fun.

The theme there was Arabian inspired, with a lot of Arabian food and decor. We had so many options as it was a buffet, and the food was top notch (Your girl had to take some home of course. Just kidding, only took the Tiramisu).

I first had a cup of tea and a bowl of Shurba. Shurba is an arabian soup made with either wheat, hair noodles or quaker oats. I love this soup, it was a regular at my house, be it Ramadan or not, my mum always makes it for my dad. I think he’s addicted! (I’ll put up a recipe pretty soon).

I then had a bowl of Parsley salad and some  kunafe cones. (The chef here altered the kunafe and used crepes to make the cones. I had no idea what to call them so I decided to still call them kunafe).

Lastly, I had some Basbousas, a mousse, some fruits and took home my Tiramisu. The Tiramisu wasn’t on the menu that day but the chef made me a complimentary one. It was a much needed iftar date because I cooked every other day! I highly recommend you try this Arabian Iftar at Papillon, whenever you get the chance.

xoxo,

Ummeeta.
